CFO Conference in Las Vegas: Capital, Energy, Real Estate & a "Good Deal"

Finance executives are struggling with the turmoil in the housing, energy, and capital markets. Derek van Bever, chief research officer at the Corporate Executive Board, will talk about his new book, "Stall Points: Most Companies Stop Growing--Yours Doesn't Have To" (Yale University Press, April 2008).

Bill Emmott, former editor of The Economist, will talk about the current economy. David Walker, the former Comptroller General of the United States, will address the problem of the mounting federal debt in light of the recently passed bailout bill.

The conference will have a timely panel on the International Financial Reporting Standards which the SEC is requiring to be adopted. The change to IFRS might start as early as 2011. The panel includes board members from FASB and PCAOB.
